Description

Monogan is an ECR Ion Source in which the magnetic circuit is entirely made with permanent magnets. Its totally new design incorporates a symmetry which allows radial and axial confinement without use of multipoles. The M-100 model is extremely compact, allowing to produce monocharged ions of with intensities higher than 50 µA. Protons with 500 µA can be produced with this source. The internal volume of the plasma chamber of M-100 is of about 100 cm3.

 

The 2.45GHz RF power is provided by a solid state generator with 30W. Gas input is provided by a Mass-Flow controller with high reproducibility. The extraction electrode is included in the source together with its insulator. The maximum extraction voltage is 30 kV. The ion source is delivered with a complete Command and Control system including software for tuning of the source, based on Labview. The intensities produced by this source are listed  in the table.
